So, I’ve autocrossed my 6month old Pilot Super Sports into slicks and the state of Virginia has decided my car poses a danger to society.
Naturally, I took this opportunity as an opening to purchase some all seasons for daily driving and some lightweight wheels and 200 tread wear tires for autocrossing.
Unfortunately, my factory wheels are 18x8 up front and 18x9 in the rear. Apparently, nobody on the planet makes 18x9 wheels with a 5x115 bolt pattern so I’m forced to buy OEM wheels to affix my 200 tread wear tires.
Goodbye dreams, goodbye money (used OEM wheels are a fortune, and weigh a ton).

Ebay reveals many wheels meant for the charger/challenger/magnum in 18x9 with a 5x115 pattern. Is there an issue with offset?

If you haven’t bought wheels yet I have a set of ATS wheels. THey were painted red from the factory. I could make you a deal on those.

There are a couple internet retailers that can custom-make steelies for you. They’ll probably be a bit heavy, but possibly lighter than OEM.

These probably aren’t very light weight, but...

52 in the back and 42 up front. And I can’t change it much otherwise I can’t stay in street class for autocrossing.

Don’t tease me sir. The bolt pattern wouldn’t work. Same with the offset.

Do you have a CTS or ATS?

ATS 2.0 Premium

That......is odd.
Is it a “true” 18x9 in the back or is it 18x8.5 and they round up?

Keep the stock wheels for autocross and put the new wheels on for street duty.
It means you can’t get lightweight wheels for autocross, but you’re still obviously in the same class too.

Damn... Oh well. I have no idea what to do with them, but I saved them... I don’t think they are staggered 18's either.

Why not just put on a 18x8 square setup just for autocrossing?

Yeah, that would have been the best course but I discovered the rarity of my wheels only after I bought new street tires (I needed them to pass state inspection). I also typically prefer the look of factory wheels so I think I would have been annoyed driving around on aftermarket wheels while not racing (aka 95% of the time).

Oddly enough, going to a skinnier rear wheel would move me up a class for autocrossing.
